An Australian - Papua New Guinea Government development project partnership, seeks to a logo that succinctly represents the four year initiative to promote the project to both a domestic and international audience.
The project seeks to assist local farmers to reestablish woodlots of timber trees to address the shortage of timber in their regions due to logging, urbanisation and expansion of agriculture including oil palm. The project is in the third phase and needs a clear brand that people can quickly associate with.
The project name "Tura Dawai" is in a local PNG language which means the growing tip of the tree (Tura broadly meaning top or end and Dawai meaning tree)
The logo should have a tree, or cross-section of trunk/timber and/or stylistic representation of woodlots/plantations to capture the main aim of the project which is to establish woodlots of commercially valuable hardwood trees.
The main trees promoted are sandalwood and teak, which are tropical broadleaf hardwoods, so any stylised trees should not look like a pine tree or other conical-shaped conifers.
The logo should be simple and without necessary detail with “Tura Dawai” being the main text. At the bottom of the logo the PNG and Australian national flags should be represented with smaller text “A PNG and Australian Government Partnership”
Please see attached a similar corporate logo for inspiration, but the successful logo needs to be different as the one provided here is already used by an existing business.
