Brief de Design de Couverture de Livre

1. For the front cover of the paperback I need the photo of me walking down the driveway at Government House as the focal point. The designer will use their discretion where to insert the book title: The Insider.
Also the designer will use their discretion where my name Malcolm McMillan as the author is placed. Attached is a contemporary photo of me to use if the designer thinks that possible. Both these photos are attached.
2. The back cover page will contain two main written insertions (1) About the Book and (2) About the Author.
The book will be an 8.5x11 inch paperback of some 570 pages published by Amazon.
About the book:
This book is about Australian Public Affairs 1957-2020 as perceived and observed by Malcolm McMillan. It has a significant but not exclusive Queensland focus concerning History, Commentary, and Anecdotes, plus some things Malcolm has been involved with along the way.
Malcolm developed unique Transition to Government and Transition to Opposition plans that have all been implemented. Some of those plans are referred to in the book and other Transition plans are appendixes to the book.
Now at 73 years of age, Malcolm’s motivation for writing this book is to ensure a wealth of historical scenarios are captured and incorporated into the public record for future generations.

About the author:

Malcolm McMillan has been a largely silent and invisible political confidant to Australian Premiers and Prime Ministers.
Malcolm worked in the Queensland public sector from 1971-2009 as Chief of Staff to four Queensland State Opposition Leaders for 13 years and then as a Public Sector senior executive.
He subsequently served on the Mary MacKillop Foundation Board, the State Library of Queensland Board, and consulted to a mining company. He has recorded many Oral History projects for The National Library in Canberra.
Over the last 30+ years, he has been approached countless times for advice relating to Business, Government, Authors, Historians, and people seeking a job. He has never charged a cent for any of his advice, even when not working within Government.
There are two extra photos attached to maybe be on each side at the bottom of the back cover if the designer thinks it is appropriate.
Those in the 4 person photo from the left were all connected with the Queensland Parliament: former Labor Minister Paul Braddy, Former National Party Premier Mike Ahern, former Liberal Leader Terry White, and Malcolm McMillan

In the three person photo from the left are: Malcolm McMillan, Former PM Gough Whitlam, and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

3. In the spine of the book will be simply (1) The Insider and (2) Malcolm McMillan
