Brief de Web Design
Our brand guidelines provide the look and feel for the website - we just need someone to create it based on our mock ups!
PLEASE NOTE:
- Please base our website off the website pages within the brief (ie homepage is GREEN)
- please ensure each page will be standalone (not a scrolling home page)
- please only use filtered duotone style photography as a hold, if you think the page needs a photo.
-please not the websites i have provided as an influence - especially NOON ANNUAL. We want very little photography.
Folly is a literary and arts journal that provides a platform for both emerging and established writers and artists from New Zealand and beyond. We are passionate about sharing insights into the intimate and unique worlds of creatives with short stories, poetry, and art – showcasing raw and unfiltered glimpses into their world.
We have our brand guidelines and logo finalised, with a 'look and feel' design for the website within our attached brand guidelines document. We just need someone to design this simple website on Squarespace for us. It will have five pages and will need a newsletter sign up link:

FOLLY is an independent literary annual journal established in 2022 by Emily Broadmore and Tiana Jones that publishes unrepentant unfiltered accounts of life, eclectic takes on the mundane ordinary, and deep dives into modern love & sexuality.

I suggest duotone fashion-esque photography which is very Chindy Sherman/ Palm Springs vibe but not obviously identifiable.
· I love the style of Slim Aarons for our shoot in particular. Group lazing around a pool, leisurely, glam, but effortless and ironically looking very natural – as though – yes, these are our lives.
SUBMISSION PAGE
Folly welcomes submissions all year round.
We are drawn to dark humour, satirical takes on the social scene, and starkly honest accounts of ordinary life. Diversity is celebrated, adversity is welcomed and, above all, personal expression is championed. We are particularly seeking content that takes risks, screams of honesty and celebrates life’s most extraordinary moments.
Selected works will be published in our annual publication.
Submission guidelines
We accept flash fiction, short stories and poetry. Individual entries not to mustn’t exceed 2000 words.
Submitted work must be unpublished and in English. We welcome simultaneous submissions, but must be notified immediately if your manuscript is accepted for publication elsewhere or appears in any print or online source. We will endeavour to respond to all submissions within four weeks.

Annual short story competition
Issue One is interested in all that is spiritual, coincidental, or mysterious. Stories selected for this issue reflect life’s uncanny moments, those that defy explanation, and experiences that promote personal and spiritual growth. Entires must be no longer than 2000 words.
First prize: 1000
Second prize: 500

Hi everyone
Please ensure you read our brand guidelines and follow the brief. Please note we do not yet have a product, as this is a new venture, so there is no point including images of a magazine that doesn't yet exist. Some further comment to ensure we get there:
- We want all pages to be separate pages (not a scrolling home page) with a different colour based on the guidelines
- The home page must look just as it does in the brand guidelines
- There is no archive page (please read brief) as we have no archive yet. The pages are: Home, About, Contact, Competitions and submissions
