Brief de Design de Logo

I need a new logo that describes how I work with individuals as well as investors. I am a small residential mortgage lender. In addition to the traditional conventional mortgages done locally for a primary residence, I also work with real estate investors to help fund their multi property scenarios. I do this across the nation in 33 different states. I like the idea of showing nationwide and I like the idea of keeping it sophisticated yet simple to identify with all classes of borrowers. Attached are two files I tried to create myself. My feedback on both was not good. The first was too literal and the second had too much going on and not small enough to put on a card to be memorable. I also got feed back that it looked more like I worked in urban development than with residential mortgages.
