Brief de Design de Logo

We are renaming our church to Hope + Life Church. We are located in the Pacific Northwest near Mount Rainier - between Seattle & Tacoma, WA in the United States.
We would like a simple logo that would work for signage & publications, preferably not dependent on color. (We'll most likely use it in black and white, but are open to a color scheme to help with quick & consistent identification.) Our congregation is not traditional... our services are casual with contemporary music. We're setting out on a fresh start (new building/location & new name) as a Spirit-filled community of Christ-followers. We would like the logo to convey a feeling of being current and welcoming. I am including a previous logo used with our old church name "Northwest Family Church" to give you context. We will most likely want a Logo that could stand alone with the option of including the church name. See sample below.
