Brief de Design Icône

Startup online wargaming site requires icons to represent military and production units in a game currently in development. The game is similar to a RISK style of game.

The icons need to be 2D and of a simple design that will clearly show what the unit represents eg A Biplane, WW2 Aircraft, Aircraft Carrier, Tank, Artillery piece, Factory etc.

The icons can be reasonably generic, they do not have to accurately represent a specific actual unit eg a Spitfire or T34. The icon does need to be easily identifiable as an aircraft, tank, ship etc.

Icons will ideally be white on a dark background but need to be able to be converted to other colours.

No animation required.

I will attach a file which lists the unit icons required. Names are provisional but should give a general feel.

The units in many cases represent technically improved variants on their immediate predecessors so a common theme or mechanism for identifying them as being more advanced than their predecessor could be an option.

By this I mean, there is little difference visually between (for example) unit type: Light Armoured Car and unit type: Armoured car but it would be very helpful to have some indication included in the icon that one is more technically advanced than the other.

Alternatively, different but broadly similar icons would be acceptable.

Exigences

Doit avoir

• Must be 2D or could have a 3D look. They will be used on screen on a map to indicate what units are present in a particular province/region of the game map. Icons will also be used throughout the game in a variety of uses including (for example) production screens.
  
  Size should be about 1cm x 1cm

Bien d'avoir

• would be nice if they were vector graphics so as to scale up without pixelation if being used in (for example) more detailed maps or rule books.

• Must not use any inappropriate symbols eg Swastikas
