We need a logo design for a Connecticut-based, not for profit emergency preparedness organization called CTEP Alliance. This alliance brings training, clinics, guidance and strategy to ensure that local towns and agencies are prepared for emergency situations (ie: natural disasters, pandemics, etc) and provides support in reaction to events that result in the need for emergency response.
I'm attaching the current logos but there are some considerations to keep in mind when getting to a new logo:
- we will need two versions of the logo - a multi/full color logo and one that can be executed in a single color (ie: white knocked out on a dark background, dark logo on white background)
- the swoosh with the stars inside the Connecticut state outline is a "common" treatment among emergency preparedness state organizations. No one (that I can find) has it protected by IP law, so states have been using it to create a recognizable element. The client would like to keep that as part of the logo.
- the element of the current logos, that is the connecticut state outline with "CTEP Alliance" and the swoosh/stars needs to be able to stand alone without the ring around it. There will be some executional situations in which the ring around wiht the "Connecticut Emergency Preparedness Alliance" won't be necessary.
- this logo in entirety (ring with copy + state/CTEP Alliance) needs to be able to be usable and readable in any execution, from embroidery on a baseball cap to an emergency truck/vehicle wrap. The concern with the current logos is that the copy in the ring won't embroider well and washes out.
- The logo needs to command an immediate emotional response of trust, reliance, authority. I'm not sure that these logos do that.
- The current logos are in dark blue and gold. These colors were chosen arbitrarily. Again, if there are colors that ladder up into the need for an emotional response that delivers trust, reliance and authority, then open to color alternates as well.
