Brief de Design de Logo

I would like a new logo for an existing veterinary practice that I will be acquiring. I would like it to represent my business model of comprehensive and compassionate care for pets, mostly dogs and cats, but also the occasional rabbit, ferret, guinea pig. I want it to be versatile, and be able to use it on business cards, our road sign, merchandise, and letterhead. It should look good in both color and balance and white.
