Thesis cover and chapter page design
Add your question or comments below
Hi there, cool project! I have 2 Questions
1) Whats the Thesis title?
2) Whats the height of the book?
Thanks,
Exo
Hi. I am curious on what would go on the back cover of the Thesis. On the back cover of a book, in general you put a small description of the author, maybe some testimonials or an abstract of the story. But, to be honest, I am not sure what information to put on the back cover of a Thesis. Can you clarify what information you want the back cover to have?
Another thing... I think you mentioned the cover size would be "17 cm with 0.5 cm bleed"... as exoddinary mentioned, we need to know the width x height dimension of the cover.
Hi Exo,
thank you for your questions. Sorry for forgetting the height of the cover, that is a bit silly. So the printing company says the following:
The size of your cover should be from left to right:
0.5 cm (bleed) 17cm cover(back cover) +... cm (spine) + 17 cm (front cover) + 0.5 cm (bleed) = 35 cm + spine
The size of your cover should be from top to bottom:
0.5 cm (bleed) + 24 cm (cover) + 0.5 cm (bleed) = 25 cm
The title of the thesis will probably be:
"Thrombus and ischemic core in acute ischemic stroke and their relation to functional outcome"
Would it be possible for me to make adjustments to the title if neccessary or won't I be able to use the font? The title has not been approved by the committee yet.
Dear Danstudio,
thank you for your question. Actually, usually there is no text at the back of the thesis. Normally, the back cover just has the same colour as the background color of the front cover or (which is nicer) the design of the front cover continues over the spine onto the back of the thesis. Normally, the title of the thesis is also printed on the spine.
Thank you for the replies! Alight will work on this.
Yes it’s possible for you to change the font, provided that the designer uses generic font / upload the font during the handover process.
Also, feel free to give feedback on the submission provided :-)
Dear Danstudio,
I would like to refer you to my answer to exoddinary. Thank you!
Hi, thank you for your answers. Sorry for not participating on the project, I got overwhelmed with work on the end of the last week and end up not being able to work on a new project. But thanks for taking the time for answering each question. You might not know it, but this is truly rare. I hope you rock the presentation of your thesis. Rgds,
Dear Danstudio,
No worries, I hope you were able to finish what you had to do:) Cheers!
