Brief de Design de Logo
Looking for a logo design for a small new media production and publishing company called 'Blue Gap Media'. We're initially focusing on board and tabletop role-playing game content. At launch we'll be producing a few podcasts and a YouTube channel showcasing our in-house design / development process for a few projects, as well as creating content aimed at establishing our brand with those broadly interested in the board / tabletop role-playing games hobby. Longer term, we intend to publish our games in both physical and digital mediums while expanding on the industries we serve.
We are expressly not a video game company, and wish to avoid any overt visual reference to common themes / tropes of that industry (no game controllers). We desire a logo that rides the line of being both professional and fun / playful. Our clients and customers enjoy playing and engaging with digital content about a wide range of board and tabletop role-playing games. Our logo needs to grab attention on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube while also being at home on the spine of a physical book or game box.
Our company's name is taken from a geological feature that overlooks the home of the company's founder tucked away in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina, and we think there might, perhaps, be something in that which can be incorporated into our final design.
Our final design will almost certainly have a visual element that can be used separately from the company name in the logo for instances where the full company name would feel out of place.

Designers,
We are seeing some very nice options, but many are taking the mountain & road idea a little too literally. We intended that to be more of an inspiration than a direction. While we would love to see something evoke this idea we would prefer to see it done in a more subtle way. Most of the designs we have received are simply mountains with a road, and while some are very nice they are not resonating with our team.
Thanks!

Designs were slow to come in. Hoping for a few more options to put in front of our team.

Doit avoir
- A visual element that can be used separately when the full text of the logo would not be appropriate. Examples of possible uses include, circular avatar images for YouTube, Twitch, Discord, etc..., on the pine of a physically published book, etc...).
Must have a clean professional style that is also relatable and fun without being overly stodgy.
Bien d'avoir
- Interested in possibly incorporating the idea of mountains and specifically the low space (gap or pass) between mountains. Possibly also a road winding into said mountain pass. Please consider this more of an inspiration than a direction. While we would love to see something evoke this idea we would prefer to see it done in a more subtle way. Most of the early designs we have received are simply mountains with a road, and while some are very nice they are not resonating with our team.
This is definitely not a requirement, just an idea. Either way, the use of the mountain pass and / or "road" would need to be rendered in an interesting visual (subtle?) way and not be too 'on the nose'.
Ne doit pas comporter
- We are not a video game company. So, no visual references to the tropes of that industry (E.g. no console game controllers). We also cater to a wide range of game and other interests, so we are trying to steer clear of any very specific game iconography (E.g. no polyhedral dice or dragons).
