Brief de Design de Logo
We need a new logo design for an established non profit that focuses on Indigenous elder issues. We have international in our name but our work at this time is primarily focused on American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian (Native American) populations in the United States. We have never had a professionally designed logo! We want to refresh our overall look, change the color completely from green to something else earth tone, go for something professional looking.
Our primary population of interest are older Native Americans but we want to have appeal to people as they are aging across the spectrum (not just older adults).
Attributes that we'd like to come to mind when people think about our organization: professional, passionate, trustworthy, social justice, inclusive, Native in the traditional sense but welcoming to younger Native populations, inclusive of different cultures
We are open to combination logos (imagery + wordmark), wordmarks and lettermarks.
Our name is really long, our acronym (IA2) is meaningless by itself as a brand so we need both together. If we go with a combination logo, ideally the image/ logo could be used as a stand-alone on materials and websites to share with our partners (so maybe named wrapped around). Or we need a logo that is more compact. Our current logo is really wide and hard to use on everything.
Thoughts on imagery for combination logo: while we have international in our name we don't necessarily want a globe in the logo or specific international imagery reference; though abstract/symbolism or representation worked into an image might work. Please don't use Indian headdress, war bonnets, dreamcatchers -- we are looking to steer away from Native American imagery that is perceived as hackneyed (overdone).
Many of nonprofit friends use feathers in their logos; we would be open to a feather or feathers BUT only more in the abstract or some unique conception, since so many of their logos include feathers already OR NOT at all. Imagery that could simply/cleanly convey elders/older adults would be great BUT we recognize that might be hard to do and give preference to simplicity over complexity/busy-ness and incorporation of a bunch of concepts.
Colors: We do NOT like our current bright green color it is hard to make work on just about any medium. We do not want bright or neon colors. Earth tones, including are appealing but not too dark of a color scheme and something that is appealing to younger / middle age Native cohorts (prefer NOT primary colors). Blue is a bad color in some tribal nations, but turquoise (blue-ish green) is okay as an opton. We are open to multi color or single color options.
This is our current website which will be re-designing, updating and modernizing once we have our new logo and color scheme: www.iasquared.org
Attached our current logo for reference.
The emphasis in the name should NOT be on the International, rather on indigenous aging, if there is any emphasis placed on any part of the name.

Hello-
I was injured and had emergency surgery last week. We have to extend the deadline for selection until I can return to work.
Thanks for your understanding.
