LOGO DESIGN: Breastfeeding Coalition of Placer County

Who We are: A non-profit, volunteer run group focused on supporting and normalizing breastfeeding within Placer County, California

Project Goal: Re-design our logo

Logo Vision
The final design should communicate breastfeeding, support, and have a visual element that ties to our geographic location.

We need a new logo for our non-profit organization. We are a local breastfeeding coalition based in Placer County California (East of Sacramento, below the Sierra mountain range). We serve to provide breastfeeding education to healthcare professionals and also support/educate the community.

We want to create a visual that creates clear identity and recognition. We want local families and healthcare providers to be able to recognize us within the community.


LIKES:
- Modern
- Clean lines
- Easy-to-read font
- Reproducible in multiple mediums (social media, letterheads, signage)
- Reproducible in color (blues/greens - for mountains/river) and black & white

Attached is one concept (designed by a coalition member's spouse). We like the concept (mom & baby, mountains, river), but would like a few fresh interpretations or alternatives. It would be nice to have clearer lines; mom and baby more upright/at a mild angle (rotate current image 60-90 degrees clockwise). Solid font (not comic sans; not outlined). We would also like to see a version that has the image separate from the coalition name. Please show us your ideas!

Mission:
The mission of the Breastfeeding Coalition of Placer County is to promote and support breastfeeding as a vital part of the health and development of children and their families in our communities.

Vision:
To ensure breastfeeding is recognized as the normal method of infant and young child feeding in Placer County; all health care providers in Placer County will be knowledgeable about, promote, and provide support for breastfeeding; and every woman in Placer County will have access to the information, resources and community support necessary to breastfeed for as long as she wishes.

Goals:
1) Improve the access for Placer County families to comprehensive, current, and culturally appropriate breastfeeding care and services
2) Promote breastfeeding awareness and education for health care providers and agencies serving new mothers and their families
3) Inform the public about the existence of breastfeeding support networks
