The project says - Payment not guaranteed which means you may / maynot select the winner after getting the designs hence no good designer would like to risk his time and efforts on your project if there is no payment guarantee..
Hope you understand and will make the project as guaranteed so the best designers can work on it and you get quality designs

It also means you rescind your right to a refund in most cases if you don't get what you want. More people tend to work on guaranteed projects but if you arent happy with the ultimate results, options of recourse are limited.

This is from DesignCrowd's page on Guarantees:

"When a project is marked as guaranteed it means that the customer has committed to paying out a designer and has waived their right to get their money back. If it is not guaranteed, the customer can opt to get a refund of their money.

Customers are eligable for a refund if they have not selected to guarantee their project and in accordance with the DesignCrowd refund policy."

Not to knock what Sbss is saying. Those who have earned a lot of money have the ability to pick and chose their projects more carefully and thus to this extent, what he says is true. Designers with more experience on this particular platform that have proven their appeal to those who pay for DesignCrowd's services will more likely pick and choose projects advantageous to them. Guarantees is a principal way to guarantee (pun intended) that some of these people to come forth and work on your project.

I would suggest weighing the option carefully, as it does carry some level of risk vs reward.

Thanks both for your comments. I have now upgraded the project to "Committed" and made several modifications to the Project Brief to expand the requirement. Hope this helps..
