Brief de Design de Logo

We need a logo for a new online service we're launching to help travelers customize and book a trip to Iceland. We'll have all the things you need: accommodation, rental cars, tours and activities, restaurants, event/festival tickets, and lots more.

Our target audience is young professionals and travelers (age range approx. 18-60) who prefer to use the internet to customise and book their trip, rather than book a package via a travel agency.

Since our website is www.bestoficeland.com, we're especially targeting people who would like to visit Iceland. According to surveys, the main thing that attracts people to Iceland is the unique nature: visiting glaciers, geysers, blue lagoons, volcanoes, riding Icelandic horses, going whale watching, etc. The tourists span the whole spectrum from backpackers to luxury travelers. The brand "Best of Iceland" needs to be exciting and inviting for travelers, but also be a stamp of quality that the tourism service is proud to be part of.

We will have a large selection of products (accommodation, activities, car rentals, event tickets, restaurants, etc.) for Iceland. This includes everything from the big hotel chains, down to farmers out in the country side offering trout fishing on their property. The traveler can book everything in one place (rather than scouting dozens of sites), and we have a recommendation engine that suggests interesting activities around the areas where the tourist is travelling.

• An idea (not a necessity) would be to have a reference to some of the things that bring tourists to iceland.
  
  According to surveys, the most popular recreations are things like whale watching, riding the icelandic horse, hiking and glacier trips, nature bathing (for example blue lagoon).
  
  Other things tourists find memorable: The unique nature, Reykjavík city, Geysir.
  
  It would be nice if the logo would in some way also represent a "stamp of quality" for the tour operators.
  
  We do not have color preferences, but the colors of the Icelandic national flag come to mind (blue, red, white).
  
  The attached file shows some sketches a friend made. Of these we liked the look of the puffin best, but it isn't unique to Iceland, so we weren't sure it would be a good choice. The "Iceland as a country" logos we didn't like as not too many recognize it, and it becomes blur-ish when rendered small. The "coat of arms" logo we found a bit too complex.
