Hello Designers!
I would like a logo design for a new cheese company that will be making Guatemalan-style cheese in Ontario.
Elisa is a Erick's mother and is using her family recipes to create authentic, small-batch Guatemalan cheeses. Erick is Lawyer with Masters in Culture and Communication.
Where did the idea come from:
[Erick] The idea comes from Taxisco, Santa Rosa in Guatemala. Taxisco, the home town of my mother’s family can be called the “cheese town” of Guatemala. The people from Taxisco are known as great cheese makers. My grandmother learned how to make cheese and sour cream from scratch, on her farm, near Taxisco. My mother in the same way learned how to make cheese from scratch.
The product points of difference:
1) This is a cheese not native to Ontario
2) This is a central American cheese, that appears not to have arrived as a product yet in Ontario
3) This cheese has two life spans and three faces:
Queso Fresco
a) as soon as it is made it is called “queso fresco” (fresh cheese);
Queso Oreado
b) after two or more days in the open it is called “queso oreado” (half dry),
Queso Seco
c) after a week or more the cheese can be referred to as “queso seco” (dry cheese). Uniquely, cheese intended to be made into dry cheese must be salted to a greater degree.
4) Queso Fresco can be eaten as pieces/hunks with dishes. “Queso” can be eaten fresco, oreado or seco with/over foods, like beans and rice. Queso seco tends to be used more in the “parmesan” fashion as it is dry.
Objectives:
-To expose consumers to queso via local festivals or through popular food journals and food review programs.
-To expose consumers by selling queso to local Latin American stores
-To sell queso to general grocery chains

The logo should be simple and have a homey, pastoral feel. It should feature an illustration of Elisa's face.
I have attached a photo of Elisa which you could use to create an illustration as part of the logo (Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben, Col Sanders/KFC idea). We can send more photos of Elisa if you need them.

- The brand name is "Queso Taxisco"
- The tagline (not required) could be "Authentic Guatemalan Cheese"
- This logo will go on packaging as well as on Marketing materials.
