Note for people working on new designs for this project: We don't want to use the mythical phoenix creature.

Just an idea for all designers on this project. A number of designs that show the desert look very bleak, barren. This does not represent 'HOPE' very well, although some of you have handled that with sun rays, color, etc. Here is another idea: What about flowers spreading through a desert valley? I'm thinking of the Bible verse that says: "And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose…" (Isaiah 35:1), which is an illustration of hope returning. There are lots of wildflowers in the Phoenix, AZ, area. But it could also work to show a variety.
