Brief de Design de Logo

Hello,
I need a logo design for a company in Boston , MA call Navigate Direct. The company will be a webiste and mobile application to allow the sportfishing community to network and share catch information. The intial product will be a catch report database where users can log their catch information , run reports off past trips to analyze trends based off variables such as tide, moon phase, weather coniditions and time of year. The unlimate goal of Navigate Direct is to arm fishing captains will all the relevant information needed to make informed trip decisions before leaving the dock. The community will have access to marine weather, tidal informations, and current catch conditions that are based off the user community. The product will allow you to make informed decisions and navigate more efficiently then is possible today.

For design elements the theme should be nautical, with a navigational direction to it. Im not looking for a compass rose, as that is the obvious start to this project. I feel that this has been done many times before. I would not rule out a compass rose if the design was creative and new. Im thinking a classic design and color scheme that looks like older navigational maps. The logo should provide a sense of comfort and trustworthyness, clearly showing the name Navigate Direct, and highlight the goal of the company to provide the user with the tools to navigate directly from point A to point B.
