Brief de Design de Logo
We need a logo design for an open source power system analysis software called "pandapower", which is written in the programming language Python. The software aims to automate grid calculations and helps to integrate renewable energies into the electrical power system. It can be used for free by everyone. Our software is based on the python libraries "pandas" and "pypower" (this is where the name comes from). The software is a joint development of the University of Kassel and the "Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology". The software is used in a professional environment and our main customers are electrical grid operators. The main advantages of our software is that it is easy to use, it is very fast and provides lot of functionalities which other open source do not have included on board. We prefer a plain, simple logo design, which can be used as an icon as well.

Updates:
I our discussion we realized some things:
We do not prefer most logos with the "on/off button" (since we're not dealing with power devices)
We like many designs with:
pandas (but not cute)
a flash (expresses power / electric current)
What could also be great ideas are:
overhead lines, power cables, a transformer symbol or any other electric grid symbol. See some impressions of what we deal with attached.

thank you so much for the great effort an logo proposals. Our team is in heavy discussion and it is really hard to choose from all your very nice suggestions.
We uploaded some images to give you an impression about what we deal with in our computations. Mostly our software / calculations are about power systems. Therefore we deal with cables, transmissions lines and high voltage circuits (see some impressions attached in the Brief). Maybe that helps to give you some impressions and ideas.
