This learning event is specifically for Ace Hardware retailers/stores located outside of the US who are seeking guidance and help with how to plan, prepare, manage there business during Hurricane/Tropical Storm season.

Event Title: Successfully Managing Through Hurricane Season

Event Description: Hurricanes and severe tropical storms are some of the most devastating, and costly, natural disasters known to humans. In fact, historically, 40% of small businesses impacted by a natural disaster do not reopen. If your business is vulnerable to these potential catastrophic events, it is important to develop an effective preparedness and mitigation plan, and take prompt action. Doing so will not only increase the safety of your store associates and customers, but it will help you remain in business after a hurricane strikes, improving your community’s ability to recover. This session focuses on:

o In-store preparation functions
o Implementing business continuity operating procedures for protecting and maintaining your business
o Sustaining the capability to provide products to customers
o Building a hurricane-ready optimized assortment of in-demand products, including special merchandising opportunities
o Deploying effective inventory management and system strategies for staying in stock
o Knowing your available contacts and rules of engagement
o Preserving a competitive advantage and reputation
o Optimizing the means by which you leverage your freight forwarding facility
