Need a Postcard to
* Promote a particular human being and his story.
* Market and raise awareness of his art
* Advertise his website where the art can be purchased.
Background:
Shah Tawassuli is a refugee and artist trapped in a refugee camp in Indonesia.
He has committed no crimes. He had to escape his country as a refugee.
He is currently held in detention. The only way out is to be privately sponsored.
This costs a huge amount of money. Shah is working to raise the money needed.
He is young and has lost 5 years being imprisoned. We must work to save him.
He draws everyday and sends the drawings to me. I make them into beautiful hand drawn art cards which we sell at markets, on the internet or via contacts.
He is not allowed to work. Secret drawing is the only way he can make a living.
This postcard is to
* share some of Shah's Story and to give a sense of who he is.
* display his beautiful art cards which are sold for income via his website.
* Prominently display his website address as well as images of the cards.
These postcards will be given out at markets, letterbox dropped, sent to new customers, left in cafes and libraries etc so people will discover Shah's Cards....
By buying the cards...Shah can earn the funds he needs to pay for sponsorship into a free country. Many countries will accept him if he pays for the process.
Therefore...the postcard needs to be filled front and back. No need to leave space for address and postage. This leaves more room for samples of the Greeting Cards.
There is text provided for the front and back of the POSTCARD.
This may be edited and added to as the design process continues.
Images of Shah's cards have been uploaded for you.
It would be great if these can be beautifully and artistically presented on the postcard. The aim is to attract people to Shah's hand drawn cards motivate people to want to buy them. Not all of the card images need to be used.
There are * black line cards * colour cards. * framed colour art works
so some of each could be promoted on the postcard.
Shah's story will be included on the back of the card labelled for the Back.
A few words will be clearly and displayed on the front. Labelled fo the front.
The front art can be a single drawing image from Shah OR a collage of many OR
It can contain his image or a few small images. See what you feel works well as there is scope to create a BEAUTIFUL postcard that depicts beautiful CARDS.
There is a quote from Shah to be included on the front.
Can it be written in a handwriting style font to make it look like Shah has written the message himself ?
There are images of Shah to be used on the front and back.
Shah's images have ben taken on dodgy phones and may not be a good quality.
They don't need to be large images and they DON'T need to all be used. There is a selection to choose from.
Shah is in a prison. Maybe there are design elements that might remind of this.
Barbed wire maybe. Fences. The over all feel though is FREEDOM and BEAUTY in the hand drawn art cards and the escape they will provide in the end.

- Colourful and imaginative way of displaying the Greeting Cards being marketed by the Postcard. It is a taster and a sampling. They do not need to be arranged in rows or order..better to be creative in displaying the samples of cards. The website has the organised online shop. The postcard is a sampler and should MAKE people want to go to the website to buy the cards. The postcard must share the story of the artist.
- Handwriting font for the quote from the artist to make it look like he has written a personal message.
- Postcard needs to be filled on front and back. No blank space for mailing and address.
