Brief de Design Application

We want to style our app to convey a 'Professional' appearance. It's used by Lawyers, Accountants, Doctors etc. who take their work very seriously.

We currently trying to follow material design guidelines, but we find our app looks very bland. I've uploaded a screenshot of our current app, and two mock-ups of more stylized versions, but we're not happy with those mock-ups.

We'd like to see alternate designs for those two mock-ups, that look much more professional.

The specific elements we'd like to improve/focus on are:
* Colour of the top and left nav bars
* Appearance of the left nav, size, icons spacing
* Appearance of the buttons on the top right, so the user knows they are buttons they can press
* Spacing of the dashboard, background colour and spacing, colour/layout of the 'overdue' and 'todo' accordion headings in the 'my tasks' section.
* List view background grey, to be consistent with dashboard, but unobtrusive
* List view tabs to be obvious as tabs, but 'saved searches', filters and the export icon to still be associated with the data displayed, but it should be obvious to the user that those are different buttons, not just more tabs. (I.e. the filters button opens a panel below it that allows the user to filter the data in the list.)
* General appearance of the popup menu when you push the 'add' button on the top right

However, despite those specifics I'm sure it's all the subtle elements of the design that make a big difference.

Our brand colour is 1D4F91, and we use A20067 as a secondary colour in print media, (although it doesn't seem to work to well within the app.) Our brand font is signika. We'd like the designs to be based on those colours & font.

• The most 'Professional' experience/quality possible. Think the quality & brand image of microsoft office, but taken to a higher level.
• An example/mock-up of the dashboard, list view and 'add' item popup menu
• Display the dashboard cards with the same information as our mock-ups - the information there is important and we don't have any extra cards to add (in the near term)

• Various colour combinations for the top and left nav bars, based on our primary blue brand colour, and perhaps some shade of dark grey.
