i ve a couple of questions about the character design :

- should they be like simple flat colors characters or you want more details with shadows and gradients ?
- do want the character to have 4 arms and 2 legs or 4 legs with 2 arms ?

As it is going to be a 2D animation simple flat animation would most likely suit best with a little shading and gradients. In saying that, you are free to be creative and use your own vision as you see them. With the anatomy go with 2 arms and 4 legs.
