My company - www.DomainHill.com.au - is developing a new commercial office building in a hip suburb of Melbourne, Australia known as Collingwood. The full address of the property is... 71 Langridge Street, Collingwood.
The building will be new but will have partly the appearance and flavour of an old warehouse and partly be modern/contemporary. See attached images.
The target market is large companies who employ large numbers of people in the 25-45 age bracket and who want to provide their employees with a creative stylish environment that does not look or feel like a standard boring office building (think Google or Facebook HQ), and thus provides their employees with a great place to work. A property of this design and calibre will also enable these companies to attract and retain the best young employees because their employees will want to come to work everyday in an amazingly cool building.
My preference is always for logos that are clean and simple. Simplicity is my favourite word and my favourite style. I don't warm to logos that are busy or complicated.
The style of the building I am proposing may conjure up a funky or edgy theme but I would encourage you not to carry that theme too far into the logo design. The companies I am targeting still tend to be conservative on the outside. It is just that with changing lifestyles and demographics, their employees tend to be less so. It is a balancing act that I'm sure all good graphic designers understand.
