Brief de Design de Logo

BECS Technology is an engineering and manufacturing company. We do a lot of innovative product development, and bring modern technology to a variety of markets.

Our most recognized market is Aquatics. We design and manufacture water chemistry controllers under the brand name BECSys. Our water chemistry controllers lead the industry in the USA, and are distributed throughout the world.

I am looking to modernize our image. We developed our current logo in-house ~13 years ago. While we really like our corporate logo, it’s starting to look and feel a bit dated. We're looking for a strong, bold logo.

We use the same theme in branding our products (look in the attached file for an example), which means the design needs to be useable as BECSys as well as BECS. This means that logo art will look best to the left of our name. (If any logo art features are on the right side of our name, it restricts the ability to expand the name from BECS to BECSys when branding our products.)

Our new logo should include our name; we really like font Formal436BT for the word "BECS". The word "Technology" should be some other font that compliments the overall look.

The real work in this project is for the abstract art/logo that goes with our name. We currently have a "swoosh" that looks a bit like a Nike swoosh. The abstract art should have some tie-in to our current logo, but still be significantly different and more modern. As an example, taking several copies of the swoosh and forming them into a circular pattern. The dimensions of the swoosh do NOT need to be strictly maintained, so feel free to adjust the swoosh to make the new logo look modern. We just want some loose connection between our new logo and our old logo. We are NOT interested in logos that look like a computer circuit, space ship, water, waves, drops of water or anything else off-the-wall with no connection to the swoosh in our current logo. Nothing specific to any of our markets. We want an abstract logo.

Our logo will appear on the front of our products, which is a silk screen process. You can see our products on this web page:

Logos that rely upon color gradients will not be usable. As you can see, we will be limited to 2 colors when using the logo on the front of our products. We believe the colors cyan and light grey look very good on a dark background. On lighter backgrounds we like cyan and navy blue.

Since we sell into other markets (Agriculture, Refrigeration, Broadband) in addition to Aquatics, we don’t want our logo to be specific to Aquatics (water) or any of our markets. Our logo should be appropriate for all of our markets.

Logo should be supplied as a scalable vector graphic in Adobe Illustrator format.

There will be several follow-on projects after we select a new logo:
• Website
• Product overlay
• Product literature template
• Possibly others

Marché(s) Cible(s)

Leisure & Competition Aquatics... swimming pools, water parks, universities, resorts, community pools. We also manufacture products for Agriculture and Refrigeration markets, so we really don't want our logo to be too specific to our Aquatics market.
