Brief de Design de Logo

We need a logo for our blog. We post about backpacking, camping, hiking, survival tips, family outdoor activities, etc. The website is www.OutdoorBlaze.com. I have a basic idea of what I want the logo to look like. Attached, you will find a drawing that I had a friend do for me. The hikers in the drawing are supposed to represent a family, hence the two big hikers (adults) and two small hikers (kids). One thing that is not in the picture that I want is a couple of trees. One of the trees needs to have a white blaze on it (the kind you would see designating a certain trail - if you're not sure what the white blaze looks like, just google it. It is well known - it is what marks the Appalachian Trail). The circles in each corner are supposed to represent some of the things we post about. Currently, the circles have borders. I do not want borders on them because it makes them look too much like boy scout merit badges and I don't really want that. Also, if there is a way to make it look like the hikers are walking on a trail, that would be great.
