Thanks so much to everyone for the submissions! As I mentioned in my (perhaps rather long) brief, I'd rather avoid using the double helix since it feels so common and overdone.
Some logo submissions somehow emphasize the word "Grey" over the word "Genetics" - Internally, we have already sometimes referred to the company in shorthand as "Grey" and i think this will probably be common if (when!) we become better known since "Genetics" is such a common part of a name for a genetics-related company and Grey is what makes the name unique. I am also liking a lot of the submissions that give equal weight to both words and love seeing both approaches, but beyond what I put in the brief, I thought I should add that "Grey" may be the shorthand name for the company.

For the record, the people I've polled so far disagree with me and think that's important for "Genetics" to be a prominent part of the design for consumers to understand the type of offering.

I'm working on getting some feedback on submissions from friends and family as well as genetics experts who would provide services through the site and lay people who would be the target market for services.
I'm very appreciative of all the submissions!
