Brief de Design de Logo

Looking to update/redesign our existing logo. The Boca Raton Jewish Experience is a Jewish Outreach and Engagement program intended for beginner or those looking to reconnect to Judaism. The idea of the original logo Inattached was to be a 3 dimensional layered six sided Star of David that is almost lying flat so that you are looking at the bottom of the star and it almost looks like that "layered" piece looks like steps. The idea that a beginner needs to start from the bottom. One version of the Logo says BRJE and the other says BRJE and Boca Raton Jewish Experience. I would like to somehow incorporate the name into the logo as well as long as it doesn't look to busy. People locally do call the organization "BRJE". The original logo was made in black and white but I am looking for your best ideas. I would like it to look sophisticated and engaging and look somewhat similar in the sense that someone that looks at might be able to make a connection to the original logo. If somehow the concept of the "base" of the six sided Star of David could be incorporated.
