Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your great designs. I have updated the design brief. We no longer feel that having the book included in the logo is the right direction.

When we thought of the idea of a tree as a good representation for our church, it was because the branches and the roots communicate the fact that we are an established congregation (the roots) that has life and new growth happening (the branches). With that in mind, a tree logo that omits half of that image, in this case the roots, the symbolism is lost. We also agree that we’re hoping for something that looks richer, deeper feeling (more substance, age, presence, more classic, through the years feel), something that doesn’t look like clipart but is still fresh and clean.

We would love to see something along those lines!
