Brief de Design de Logo

I need a logo for a new realty group starting in Richmond. I have worked full time as a Realtor as an individual for 8 years and am starting my own team. I work with purchasers and sellers around the Richmond area. Richmond is also known as RVA and Richmond has some cool looking skylines pictures that potentially could be incorporated but not a must. The colors I want to incorporate are garnet/maroon. My college colors (hampden-sydney) were garnet and grey, my wifes college colors (Virginia Tech) had Maroon, and my company Hometown Realty has a simliar color. My group will be called "Simpson Realty Group" and use the tag line "Simpson Sells Richmond" but tag line does not need to be incorporated. I saw the JS (Josh Simpson) logo on google and thought it looked cool but not sure if that would make since with Simpson Realty Group but thought I would include it anyways. I have never looked into getting a logo or designing and don't necessarily have a vision. I am open minded and excited to see your ideas. Thank you for your help.
