Brief de Design Illustration

We are looking for illustrations of several fantasy creatures and a single fantasy location. We are not looking for realism, but rather something with a distinctive style. We would prefer art that leaves a lot to the imagination: silhouettes, faceless figures, impossible or unexplained circumstances, etc. The mood should be confusing, alien, unwelcoming, hostile. Humans should be of indeterminate gender or of diverse genders.

Choice of colouration, resolution, and medium is left to the artist's discretion but a unified style is desirable. Sketchwork is acceptable.

While large submissions are accepted, please be aware that for most of these illustrations we expect them to be fairly small: the two landscape illustrations will be used to fill roughly one half of a page (PDF / 8.5"x11" paper), while the other illustrations will be interspersed in and around blocks of text in-page (2-4 images and a fair bit of text per page).

The illustrations we require are as follows:
1. A statue of a giant snake. Boiling hot water pours from its mouth into a "hot tub", releasing clouds of steam. Snakes and cultists are lounging nearby. (Landscape)
2. A "swamp dragon": sickly wings, scorpion tail, pincers. Sores and pustules from which toxic gas and snakes are emerging. (Landscape)
3. Six snake-worshipping cultists: one wears a "veil" of scales over its face and carries a large axe. One is naked, extremely strong, and covered in tattoos. One has hundreds of piercings made from assorted scrap. One is completely robed/hooded. One wears a coffin-shaped helmet and carries a spear. One hides behind a cloak and carries a blowgun. (This image could be done as one collection of six or broken up into smaller groups - an image of all six would be used to cover roughly one-quarter of an 8.5"x11" page.)
4. A figure almost entirely hidden beneath a "dress" of scales. A hint of tail is visible from underneath. Some indication that a huge axe is being carried.
5. A boa constrictor with a human face. Possibly constricting something; smiling eerily.
6. A human/snake hybrid, with a cleaver in place of an arm and metal and/or bone fused to its skin.
7. A human with vicious snakes for arms
8. A hooded figure, with three-fingered hands visible. The fingers are small, hissing snakes
9. A human with some visual cue that their saliva is acidic or poisonous. Possibly one or more of : slightly scaled skin, "snake eyes", pocked lips.
10. A pale, bald woman in a silk "thief's outfit", with unusual eyes and obvious fangs.

For the "contest" we only need to see 1-2 images; whoever is awarded the contract will be asked to do all the illustrations. We recognize this is quite a few illustrations; our hope is that since most of these are fairly small and "sketchwork" is acceptable, they won't take too long; however, if this feels like too much work for the payment offered, let's negotiate.

We have several of these projects planned, so there is opportunity for future work at comparable/better rate if we work well together.
