Business Overview
It is a newly created business that will be very similar to Design crowd as it will have architects log on and energy raters bid for their work. So it will be like a referral program
What is energy rating
Energy Rating is a calculation of the thermal performance of a building given as a points score together with a star rating from zero to 5 or 6 stars. It is based on fundamentals such as materials and products used in the construction, dimensions and specifications of the building, natural exposure to the elements, fittings and the environment surrounding the building.
An energy rating can be performed on a variety of buildings including high rise dwellings and detached houses.
Legislation and regulations are not universal throughout Australia. Currently in Victoria as the legislations stands only new buildings and extensions need an energy rating, whereas in the ACT every house bought/sold requires one.

In the end we had to choose a design that depicted how we wanted to portray our comany image and functionality. And thanks to this great service we found it.

Architects - As the energy ratings are performed on Architect plans and not all Architects wish to become energy raters they tend to outsource this compliance issue.
Builders - These are great referral sources
Home Inspection companies
Residenital home buyers As the residential market decreases in value, buyers will become more due diligent with their purchases, and as like with Building inspections it will become a standard practice to get an energy rating. The energy rating will ascertain the costs involved in heating and cooling of the premises and can be used to further negotiate with the seller on a price.

- The business image should project an environmental friendly and green approach to living and sustainability. As the business is an online home based business the branding and image would need to create a more personal feel, and still be seen as dependable, professional and corporate image. It is technical service/product concentrating on details, maths and science. However most clients will only care about the overall rating and any recommendations or suggestions made, which will be supplied without the technical jargon and analysis, KISS approach to recommendations.

- As this is a online home based business our logo will be incorporated will be within our email signature, website (to be created) and invoicing and will be seen majority of the time only in electronic formats. Business cards and stationery will also be produced but will not be a high priority. Our logo/branding will be used in
- e-marketing promotional campaign to our target market.
- Colours and fonts
- As we wish to reflect and environmental and warm image, colours used should also reflect this, such as green, brown, yellows, orange, earthy colours
- Blue tends to be symbolic of water and as we do not do anything in this area would avoid this colour. Although we do like the concept of flowing.
- As it is such a technical industry and our target market vary in its education and technical ability, therefore simple clean fonts should be used such as Arial and Century Gothic. It should be however a relatively universal font.
