Brief de Design de Logo

Looking for a logo design for our band, Jason Groce and the Joy Tyrants (joytyrants.com); we are an Americana rock band. It could be just text or possibly include some kind of image. Ideally could be used on posters, web ads, and t-shirts. (Ampersand can be substituted for word "and" if that works better design-wise.)

The ideal logo wouldn't come off as too overly serious but also wouldn't be whimsical or overtly comical.

Exigences

Doit avoir

• A somewhat limited color pallette, or at least the ability to have a monochromatic version of the logo for putting on merchandise.

Bien d'avoir

• Ideally it could be cool to have the artwork for the logo decoupled from the text. Since the band name is rather long, would be great to have a version of the logo without the name that could stand in for the band name on merchandise (such as the lips-and-tongue icon for the Rolling Stones).
• One idea I had to play on the name Joy Tyrants is some kind of comedy mask with a crown and perhaps a somewhat sinister aspect.

• Nothing too stereotypically hard rock such as skulls, guns, knives, etc.
