Brief de Design de Logo

The international consulting firm Sumicsid (Sweden, Belgium, Denmark) was founded in 1995 and is world leader in regulatory benchmarking, we help utilities commissions to evaluate whether rates are competitive. We benchmark energy network operators, distribution and transmission in gas, electricity, district heating, metering. We also assist regulators in economic design of incentive regulation. Our strength is advanced econometric modelling of cost functions, the two founders are internationally renowned researchers in Belgium and Denmark.

Our logo, graphical identity and websites were created in 2000 and should be revamped, they feel dated and are not updated (website).

The logo should signal a modern, minimalistic, scientific and original approach. It should be easy to spot on reports, web and presentation material, decline well with fonts and be harmonized in colors.

Exigences

Doit avoir

• logo should be striking and easy to integrate on reports, presentations, web, including a consistent use of fonts (currently we use always Humanist 521 - a Futura variant) for all material. Should signal a modern, no-nonsense, scientific and cool approach to economic analysis, scandinavian minimalistic roots.

Bien d'avoir

• Current website www.sumicsid.com and www.sumicsid.se shows examples of our logo and written material.
• New logo could be different, but since the business is solid and well established, some continuity would be nice. In particular, we cannot revamp all previous material, so it will coexist for some time.

Ne doit pas comporter

• complex shapes, multicolor design that prints poorly, odd fonts that differ sharply from the current Futura layout,
• lettering/spacing that decomposes the name ("discimus", lat. mirrored) in parts
• designs that would too much focus on the energy sector (we also do similar cost benchmarking for healthcare providers, schools and other sectors).
