A little about Perro Lane (not launched):
A curated and premium collection of the best pet dog products, services and information from around the world. An aspirational lifestyle brand for urban dwellers who put the health, wellbeing and happiness of their dog above most other things.
English language site only. I have the most experience in these markets: US, Australia, Canada, UK, though it needn't be these exclusively - other geographies will be able to engage with the site as long as doing so in English.
Perro Lane has been a side project of mine that I haven't paid much attention to of late. Sad face. It's a business that has had other incarnations before (no longer operational) under various names and focus. I'm moving away from those ideas, and starting something new - hence, needing a new look.
Thank you!

Doit avoir
- Aspiration for visual asset:
- - Young, modern and uncomplicated
- - High end and curated.... think fashion or perfume label
- - Can just be a word mark using typography only if distinctive. Though, perhaps including some type of image or other device to help make it unique and memorable. *see point below about other formats and mediums in 'Nice to have section'.
- - looks good at multiple sizes. Scaled up and down.
- - works in Black and White, greyscale and two colours. Can sit on a black background too.
- - Non-cluttered design
- - Enduring typography
Bien d'avoir
- - Strong preference given to a design concept that also has an alternate version that is distinctive as an app icon, browser favicon or in-stream social avatar (all tiny/small squares) e.g. twitter/instagram. These could just be the image in the logo if you're using an image along with the typography.
Ne doit pas comporter
- - Even though female skewed audience, I'm wanting to stay away from cliched "feminine" flairs (I'm not making a statement about women here; merely attempting to describe a visual style) - if the average person on the street would describe something as "girly", then it's not what I'm looking for this time.
- - A dog image may be used, but, must be a stylised representation only. No cartoonish, clip-art-ish, "cutesy" dog faces or paw prints. A dog is a bit obvious, so, it will be difficult to make this work well I feel. If, like me, you think using a lightbulb for an "idea" or a globe to indicate "international" is a bit out of date than I'd steer clear of dog heads and paws.
