Brief de Design de Logo
We need a new logo for the second season of a high rating TV show that is seen in ten countries across the South Pacific. The show is called "Taste of Paradise: The Foods of Life" featuring a renown celebrity chef. The food series educates viewers on new ways to use their local produce to create healthier dishes for the 21st century. The foods of life refers to ingredients that are high in nutrition like plant-based foods, wild seafood and tropical fruits - especially coconut. The design should consider Polynesian/Melanesian design and motif. The old logo is attached to this brief but is more than 10 years old and very outdated! We're looking for a modern look but pays tribute to the region's ancient past. Imagery of foods should be considered (a seedling or plant growing, coconut tree). Colours should also be included as it is for broadcast television.
Here's the link to the opening titles of an episode and how we used the logo previously:

I've posted how the old logo was used in the opening titles of last season on our Youtube channel here to give you some context. Logo cannot be too complex as it is only on screen for seconds. Hope this helps!

To attract only the highest quality designs we have increased the winner's payment to USD$750 ! But time is limited as we start principle filming next week and the television network needs this new logo ASAP...good luck!

Hi all and thank you for your efforts to date. We've received quite a few good designs and are slowly evaluating them one by one. Something we forgot to mention is that the knife and fork is not generally seen as part of South Pacific cuisine, as many of the cultures still eat with their hand, so there is no need to include knives and forks in your designs.

With 60 submissions in just over 48 hours I wanted to firstly say a quick thank you to all the designers! Some great looking art is being seen but do not feel like the South Pacific. Think Hawaiian if you are having difficulty and include one or two food elements of either: coconut, pineapple, watermelon or banana. It is a food show! Other elements to consider are palm tree or leaf, butterfly, sun, ocean wave...hope this helps!

Hi everyone and thanks once again for submitting so many designs in such a short time frame. The production team is currently reviewing all outstanding designs and we will come back to individual designers for any slight changes as we get closer to closing date on Sat. We may extend this by a few days if the shortlisted designers need additional time to resubmit.

Doit avoir
- As the show is telecast throughout the South Pacific, elements of the Polynesian/Melanesian culture should be evident. Ideas include coconut tree, sunshine, coconut, ocean, tropical. This show is about eating for health with a philosophy of eating more food as medicine.
Colour is important as the graphic is for broadcast television
As the theme of the show is to eat more of the 'foods of life', elements like a growing plant, health and nutrition are highly favoured
Bien d'avoir
- If you are also able to provide an animated/motion version of the graphic we may consider increasing budget
Ne doit pas comporter
- Look at the attached old logo - don't submit similar! Please don't include Western cutlery (knife, fork, spoon) or plates.
