Brief de Design de Logo

We need a logo designed for a girls STEM conference that we are organizing. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math. We are holding the conference to provide a positive and hands-on experience for girls in these fields. The conference is called Metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is a transformative process in nature. We chose this name because the goal of the conference is to transform the way girls (and society) imagine girls in STEM fields. Currently, women are underrepresented in STEM fields in Canada by 3:1 (men to women). This conference is about promoting diversity, equity and inclusivity in STEM for girls and women.

The typical organism that most people imagine undergoing metamorphosis is the butterfly, which begins life as a caterpillar. While we are open to designs that include butterflies, we would like the designers to consider other organisms that are not stereotypically associated with girls. For example, frogs (which begin as tadpoles), salamanders and many other insects like ants, dragonflies, beetles and bees also undergo metamorphosis.

We are also open to other logo designs that fit the metamorphosis concept, or is related to STEM, or that is text based.

• Must be creative, have an educational appeal, and fit the metamorphosis concept, or is related to STEM. After seeing some all text based designs, we think a symbol, image, single letter or acronym might work best. For now, we would like to see designs with animals that undergo metamorphosis (Ie. tadpole to frog, etc.)
