Brief de Design Wordpress

I want a website to promote my photography business. Needs to have a portfolio section, about me section, blog, client log in/ private gallery and a contact/quotation form.

Obviously the aim is to get enquiries and hence to lead people to the quotation or contact details. Also the aim is to showcase my photography to further drive enquiries.

Design and aesthetic appeal is crucial.

I do mainly weddings, engagements and family shoots.

I'm looking for a design that is custom and unique - something that does not look like a standard template! As a creative professional, I require a design which has 'character' - some ways I think this can be achieved is by choosing theme colours to base the website on, some consistent motifs, printed background/wall paper...? Whilst I am interested in an 'original' design, I would like to maintain a clear minimalist site layout.

In summary, my website must have a 'bold artistic identity'- whether this is achieved by a contemporary, rustic or classic design is open to suggestion. The homepage example which is attached to this brief may help you understand what I mean. (example_homepage.jpg) - this is only an example and it is not necessary for it to be exactly like this - as experienced web-designers I'm sure you will be able to build upon the example/idea.

• I like soft pastel colours but open to suggestion
  Whimsical/ retro/ 'quaint' feel to the design/fonts/color...again, open to all ideas...
  
  www.sarahrhoads.com - this site is brilliant, with a simpler layout and less flash. I like the simple homepage especially.
