Brief de Design de Logo

I need a logo to use for signage and product for a new retail store in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. I need ideas for colors, design, shape to capture the historic heritage of Old Town, with a vibe and energy that doesn't represent old and stodgy. In addition, the store will sell logo-branded Old Town Alexandria (OTA) items, Wash DC souvenirs, local craftsmen products. The logo should be charming, fresh and classic, and I may use it for the branded OTA products. The store name is The Old Town Shop, but I can also call it the The Old Town Alexandria Shop to capture the OTA concept.

Nautical themed is ok. Tourists and residents who have a passion for history, colonial times, nautical (as we are on the Potomac River), southern hospitality, history.

• The tagline is "Where the past, is your present " and if this can be incorporated in the store logo design, that would be nice. I understand that this may be difficult to incorporate into a storefront sign and/or a logo. It may be nice to have a pineapple in the logo as a graphic, because that represents hospitality, but this is not a must have. It would be nice to have some graphic on the logo, if there is room.
