We are in need of a logo design for a new company that has a patented biodegradable plastic, the first on the market. (Technically it is for all plastic containers whether used for bottled water, medication containers, etc.), so the logo should be focused on a universal theme to the below goal.
We are inspired to make the world at least a better place when it comes to non-biodegradable plastic bottles and consumer waste. It is a startling issue that affects each one of us across the globe. If you are not aware of the effects, here are some startling facts:
1) Plastic in the ocean, buried underground or in landfills will stay there for hundreds or up to thousands of years
2) 95% of plastic is thrown out after one use
3) By 2050, we’ll be making more than 3x plastic things, than in 2014
4) “In a business-as-usual scenario, the ocean is expected to contain one ton of plastic for every 3 tons of fish by 2025, and by 2050, more plastics than fish."
5) "Plastic production accounts for 6 percent of global oil consumption (a number that will hit 20 percent in 2050) and 1 percent of the global carbon budget (the maximum amount of emissions the world can produce to prevent global temperatures from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius)."
6) 8 million tons of plastic - or one garbage truck-full every minute - ends up in our oceans each year.
7) Wildlife (birds, fish, seals) eat the plastics and often die; not to mention how it may end up on our plate

Americans recycle only 34% of the waste they create (EPA, Sept. 2015) and the United States produces 25% of worldwide waste. More shockingly, humans have consumed more resources in the last 50 years than in all of previous history of the world.
Our goal is to create instant recognition that speaks to the reduce, reuse, recycle mentality across the globe and long term goals include working with mass producing companies of plastic bottles, to replace their non-biodegradable bottles using our technology, which simply put, is derived from natural stone, then biodegrades back into a natural derivative of earth’s resources. The bottles will biodegrade once in contact with a natural mineral element such as dirt or in a compost pile.
Keywords to describe our company goals are: green, from the earth – to the earth, from nature – to nature, natural, nature inspired, organic, sustainable, socially responsible and eco conscious. We envision our colors to be consistent with that spirit. It should be noticeably visually in line with other green products but of course stand out in its own way.
Our style is simple and clean.
We envision down the road, that a visual recognition of the image will automatically allow a consumer to connect us with our company, REearthable, and as we grow our business would allow our customers to display the image/and or/logo on their own packaging. Our ultimate goal is to become certified.
We are 3 startup folks passionate about the waste issue and hope, over time, that “plastic garbage” becomes a thing of the past and that everyone will recycle it. But until that time, we are contributing our little part and though passion far exceeds our funds, we hope you are inspired to be a part of what we hope becomes a relevant movement.
We are open to text included in the logo, but minimum envision 'REearthable' and 100% biodegradable. We will start with bottle production first, so it should be visually recognizable as we gain market traction. Variations to use on our website, business cards, etc. would allow more text.
Technically, our product is produced using natural and organic elements found in the earth. Once the molded plastic (say a water bottle) comes into contact with natural earth materials (eg: dirt and the natural compounds contained, and/or prolonged exposure to sunlight), it starts to naturally biodegrade. It does not need to be buried.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us!

Exigences
Doit avoir
- An instantly recognizable visual element that speaks to "green", "earth", "sustainability" and "save the planet".
Bien d'avoir
- Nice to have REearthable integrated in the logo, and/or 100% biodegradable but mostly the logo image should speak for itself. Given the nature of the product, we envision greens, dark brown and perhaps even blue as the color scheme.
Ne doit pas comporter
- Logo should not have 'overdone' symbols that could be confused with recycle, and other common logos
