Brief de Design de Logo

We need a logo design for a Bristol (UK) based technology development company called 'STL Tech'. The company aspires to provide technology/engineering development services to large scale, global engineering companies such as Babcock, Harris, BAE, Raytheon, L3, GE and EDF Energy. It will also provide the same services to SMEs (small and medium enterprises) that develop innovative solutions and require technical support.
STL Tech has a broad understanding of the global innovation landscape, and in particular, research and innovation that is emerging from the research base (universities and research institutes). The STL Tech team has significant experience providing similar solutions to large engineering companies within a previous company. It now aims to link research and key technology development requirements that sit within these global engineering companies, that are looking to innovate to deliver advanced solutions to their clients. These large organisations would not contract direct with a research institute due to the latters inability to deliver a robust, commercially ready solution. They want a knowledgeable, technically competent and experienced partner (STL) to deliver this for them.
The technologies STL develops will be monitoring systems for the industries mentioned above, focussed on asset integrity of systems. The technology will be a combination of sensors and robotics, that provide an operator advanced warning of failure of components within an aircraft, ship, wind turbine etc. But the technologies the company develops are not limited to this.
Once revenue generating, STL will invest its own revenues in developing technologies from the research base, and own/market these for its own financial benefit. STL also aspires to work with investors on these projects, so the logo will need to appeal to investment funds.

Open to colour scheme but like blue, red, green. We favour just 'STL' in the logo rather than 'STL Tech' but were open to ideas.
