Brief de Design de Logo

We are concepting a new locally owned restaurant and bar which will be on a corner of the busy city square in a midsize US city. The name of the restaurant is The Post which honors George Post, the architect of the state capitol building right outside our window.

The decor inside the restaurant includes historic photos of the Capitol being built. Menu will include good, classic food. We're surrounded by farm to table gastro-pubs but we are not that. A little upscale (because we're on the city square) but not formal. "Sophisticated" is a good word to describe it. We hope to attract the bankers and lawyers for business lunches and happy hour. Young professionals for late nights in the bar. The chain I could best liken it to is Fleming's - particularly the bar in Fleming's.

The logo should include the words "The Post". We do not want any Capitol building imagery because there's so much of that already. We're not opposed to some kind of iconography but simply the name by itself is okay. We don't want anything too "old timey" but the logo could evoke the history of the building we're in (built in 1871). One person on our team suggested a Beaux Arts look. I've attached two images with potential historic fonts from the hotel during the early era. I've also attached a rendering of the restaurant interior.
