Brief de Design de Logo

Network of people is the underlying theme of the whole application. 6DoS (6 Degrees of Separation) is a web application that replicates the experimental setting that demonstrated the principle of 6 degrees of separation (that every person in the world is at the most 6 people away from anyone else). Although this webapp itself does not demonstrate the principle, it uses that setting on a smaller scale, to demonstrate different network theory metrics. 6DoS has been built to be used in the form of a game. An administrator sets up the initial parameters of the game, such as number of contacts that the players can choose. The players choose their contacts from within the group participating in the game, forming a network of players. Each player is then assigned a random ‘destination player’. The players are asked to send a message through one of their contacts such that it finally reaches the destination, while also forwarding any messages that they receive, such that each message reaches its own destination. After the game, the players are ranked based on the accuracy of their decisions in choosing the recipients of their messages from their contacts, and some key statistical measures of the player network and the message flow are displayed.
