Brief de Design de Logo

DataSmash is a web-based platform, looking to build a distinctive, yet modest brand, with an easily-recognisable logo.

At this stage, the word 'DataSmash' should itself be the logo - it will be in the header of the website. We want to emulate the likes of YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and so on, in terms of brand style. Note: this does not mean we want our logo to look similar to similar!

Attached are our favourite designs so far, please do not copy these - they had been added to give you a flavour of what we appeals to us. The more original your design, the better.

Please feel free to submit multiple designs - you will receive feedback on everything you submit.

Exigences

Doit avoir

• It is crucial that the design is modern, smart and professional: it needs to be clear and simple, with minimal colour ranges.
• IMPORTANT: Look at the attached screenshot, notice how the designer has used a white background, but it is not 'plain' white. A faint lighting effect has been used and the white is a slightly darker shade. If you choose to use a white background, this is what we want. Plain white backgrounds will not be accepted.

Bien d'avoir

• As an addition to the main 'DataSmash' logo, it would be great to have a simplified version that is in-keeping with the main brand logo, which could be used as the Facebook page profile picture, or an App cover... Much like Facebook, LinkedIn & YouTube have done for their apps / Facebook pages. Perhaps using the letters 'DS' in some way? Perhaps just symbol that relates to online data? It is up to you.
• With regard to the background on which the logo sits, it may be preferable to use a very subtle (emphasis on 'very subtle') light filter, or colour fade effect, so that the background has more than on tone/shade. The light filter / colour fade effect should not be on the word 'DataSmash' itself, only on the background on which it sits.

• Cannot include caricatures, gimmicky pictures, 'hand-written' style fonts and so on. Overly bright / flashy or extravagant designs should be avoided.
• Plain white backgrounds are complete no-go. Your submission should not just be the word 'DataSmash' in colour, pasted onto a bright, plain white background - anyone can do that.
