Brief de Design de Logo
I need a logo that reflects the nature of my law practice. I practice mainly in appeals, which is when a party to lawsuit loses in the trial court and appeals to a higher court to overturn the lower court's decision. The logo should suggest ascent or otherwise taking things up (stairs, arrows, e.g.) to a higher level of authority. The idea is to convey that a party is "taking its case to the top." I previously considered stock photos of men heading up the stairs of a courthouse, e.g., but I am looking for something a little more abstract.
Other facts you can consider incorporating:
There is a single judge in the trial court, but an appeal is heard by a panel of THREE judges in the appellate court. If you can incorporate that with an abstract design, go for it. But the principal idea is one of ascending to be heard by a higher authority.
An appeal is an opportunity to correct a miscarriage of justice. It is a route of redress for people who have been wronged by the system. Something that suggests such a correction might be good.
Marché(s) Cible(s)
My principal market is other lawyers. (This is way I set the economical/upmarket slider all the way to upmarket; my services are expensive)

Texte du logo
I do not want text in the logo, except maybe for my initials GM. But they don't need to be in there.

Exigences
Doit avoir
- Must be suitable for both a business card and stationery. Logo should not "lose anything in translation" when printed in grayscale instead of color.
Bien d'avoir
- A splash of color would be nice, but it is not necessary to have a lot of colors. In fact, some stock images that I like have a mostly black & white design with just one other color in apart of the logo. (One such design can be viewed at http://www.gograph.com/clipart/business-man-climbs-up-arrow-stairs-gg64073198.html)
Ne doit pas comporter
- Scales, gavel, powdered wigs. I refer a design without a briefcase but if you need that to make it "lawyerly," including a briefcase would be OK.
