In response to rampant American Islamaphobia, hate crimes and anti-Muslim rhetoric we’re launching a project called This American Muslim. The project empowers American Muslims to document, preserve and share their stories and lived experiences through photography, writings, interviews, etc.
The final design should communicate both “American” and “Muslim.” Colors might be blue, white and/or red, but we're open. the design doesn't necessarily need to be overly patriotic and over the top "American". For example, an Islamic pattern with blue red and white. the use of American symbols such as stars, stripes, or eagles and/or use of Islamic symbols such as Star and crescent, islamic geometrical pattern. Or maybe we play off the [voice] of Muslim Americans in the design. We're open.
