May I ask why the need for a realistic globe? (I am assuming that when you say "realistic" you are referring to something that is almost photo-like except the change in colors.) The reason why i am asking this is because, as per your brief, it is indicated that this logo is meant for teenagers. These are a generation of "powerpuff" girls - graphic styled generation, something photo-realistic (like the 60hour globe - https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTcdwqimPN9ojgjncktsQYwdA-qZCL5yV_1deWiFoZAAVz0Ot0O) may not resonate with them that well...
