Fifth Freedom is a disability advocacy organization in Indiana. We are working on a project with the Indiana Association of Workers for the Blind. Our organizations need a design for a poster to promote awareness of Indiana's White Cane law. This poster will be displayed in local libraries, businesses, and other public places.
The poster should catch people's attention, and briefly explain that drivers have to yield for pedestrians who are blind who have white canes or seeing eye dogs.
This poster contest comes with a prize of $250 and ends on Saturday, May 21.
The poster should be designed with people with low vision in mind. This means large text in a clear font, with good contrast between the text and the background. The text should be in a sans serif font that is clear and easy to read, with no italics or script fonts. There should not be a "busy" picture or pattern behind the text.
The poster should also include a reference to the relevant laws. We have attached a document with those references.
Finally, the poster should include the logos of Fifth Freedom and the Indiana Association of Workers for the Blind, which we have included as attachments.
We have also included an attachment with a photo of the old White Cane Law poster, just to show an example of what we DO NOT want.
