Katanning Landcare needs to update its corporate image to reflect its new marketing strategy and online presence. Katanning Landcare is an Australian not-for-profit environmental organisation that focuses on revegetating degraded land.
More specifically, we are in the Great Southern of West Australia, and work in an area of primarily cleared broad acre farming, where we try to plant trees and protect remnant vegetation for a wide variety of environmental outcomes.
Examples of animals from our area are: Red tailed Phascogales, Carnaby's Cockatoos, Chuditch, Echidnas. We also have a lot of reptiles - Bobtail Lizards, Gould's Monitor.
Major tree species are: Wandoo, Salmon Gum, York Gum, Red Morrel, with a number of Banksia, Hakea, and Melaleuca.
We are not necessarily looking for a plant or animal in the logo, but wanted to give you an idea of the landscape we are working in.
Please develop a new logo for us with the following key-words in mind:
1. ENVIRONMENTAL – conservation, nature, outdoors, country
2. KNOWLEDGEABLE – learning, teaching, wisdom, information, inquisitiveness, insightfulness, mastery
3. TRUSTWORTHY - accountability, truthful, commitment, candour, honesty, openness, ethics, sincerity, assurance, affirmation, guarantee, pledge, promise
4. APPROACHABLE – community, belonging, acceptance, affinity, association, attachment, inclusion, kinship, loyalty, rapport, relationships, connection, family, partnership, accessibility, receptiveness, availability, willingness, open-mindedness
5. VIBRANT - agility, cleverness, quickness, sharpness, liveliness, active, dynamic, energetic, vigorous, vital, vivid, awareness, alertness,
6. VOLUNTEER / COMMUNITY BASED – cooperation, involvement, teamwork, contribution, generosity, helpfulness, service, sharing, not-for-profit, making-a-difference, altruism, humanitarian, kindness, charity, philanthropy, frugality
7. Other words to consider include: leader, kind, growing, confident, thriving, fun and stable.
While an approachable, warm and welcoming image is desired, we also want to ensure that the organisation is perceived as a professional business.
Please keep the design simple, with colours that are are warm and uplifting.
Please do not use the “Landcare Hands” when developing this logo.
We really like the WWF logo http://wwf.panda.org/ for its simplicity and identifiability.
We like the SWCC logo for its shape and flow, but dislike the colours - they are too 'heavy or draining' http://swccnrm.org.au/
But we are very open to new design ideas and forms and are looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
