Brief de Web Design

I need a web design for an online custom jewelry company called Custom Carat. (www.customcarat.com) this company specializes in high-end custom made engagement rings, wedding bands and jewelry of all kinds (necklaces, earrings, bracelets etc)All our jewelry uses diamonds so there must be a focus on diamonds on every type of jewelry we will be designing off the website.

We are a company located in New York City but our website will
aim to cater to international, national clients and as well as New York city residents.The company low overhead provides diamonds and precious metal at a discounted costs compared to its competitors. Custom Carat makes unique custom diamond jewelry of a higher quality and at a lower price than carriage trade retail jewellers. (meaning that our company allows our customers to save money on diamond jewelry then they would if they bought from any known store or company)

The website will act as a tool for our customers to create their own jewelry. The way they will do this is by uploading pictures of what they like, they can post any pictures they want (from drawings, to actual copy and pasted pictures from other websites of designs) From these designs we will create a 3D digital image of the jewelry they like and customize it - however they want (colours, size etc) and then give them a quote in price. From the quote they will either approve it and we can have it made for them in 1 weeks time. If they decline it we will try to do whatever it is they want for the design to suit their needs.

We want the website to be simple and user friendly since people will be working on it to create their own individual jewelry pieces. Therefore some useful headings should include:

"Custom Jewellery" or something like "your design" "Custom Design"

Once you’ve uploaded pictures and give an explanation of what you want then we will contact you by phone or email and proceed to design your ring. Give us your contact info in this step.

The colour i would like to see are white and black, white and dark blue or royal blue. I don't think pastel colours will look good with this, maybe accents of purple or something pastel but for the main colours I want to keep it classic and sophisticated since it is a diamond company.

Our team works very hard to ensure that you will be so involved in the custom order process that there is no chance of something not being made to your requests. Jewelry is made to the highest standard or it does not ship in the first place. In the event a custom order does not suit a customer, we will take returns within 14 days of delivery less a 25% restocking fee.

• We have the logo now that I will attach BUT if you want to design something else please feel free ! I am open to all designs and ideas.
  My logo now is simply a sketch so even if we make it look a bit more professional and classy I would like that, I think I want to keep it simple just black and white and maybe make the diamond shiny if possible. other then black in white I liked the gold and black combination too.. but as I said open to any other creative ideas!

• We already have a logo but we would like to see a banner or something that indicated saving money on diamond jewelry without it looking tacky or too cheap..
  
  Also would like to see artistic pictures if you can of jewelry alongside very simple designs of jewelry that the masses like, (anything trendy or appealing to the eye)
  
  cursive or elegant writing could be nice, flash could also be incorporated in the main page..

• Nothing to old fashioned, when I mean elegant maybe just the the name of the company in cursive writing (Custom Carat) but the actual headings and font on the website to be in a widely used font on jewelry websites. Please no hot pink colours or anything neon..
  no times new roman font..
