As you had mentioned in your requirement that it should not be cartoonist it should be realistic.

If its a real hand then its better but a proper clear hand as it will be a logo of the foundation. And its not necessary  to use a hand. That was just an idea. If its used then well and good other wise something else related to the topic can also be used.
